CRRI104x CORAL REEFS: Climate-Resilient Communities
Dive into the critical world of coral reef conservation with this course, developed by the University of Queensland on EdX and in collaboration with CARE as part of the multi-stakeholder GEF7 Coral Reef Rescue project, implemented through WWF. The course begins by exploring climate resilience and includes a step-by-step Climate Vulnerability and Capacity Analysis (CVCA) guide through its seven stages of implementation, including planning, data collection, analysis, and action. Integrating gender and social inclusion, the course provides equitable and effective resilience-building analysis and strategies.
Coastal communities face growing risks from climate change, but strengthening resilience starts with understanding local vulnerabilities and strengths. This course, developed in collaboration with CARE International, guides you through CARE CVCA process— a participatory approach designed to capture local knowledge and adaptable strategies and tools for diverse contexts. This can be used in several ways, from using it is a basis for developing a community adaptation plan, for planning advocacy and awareness raising activities or for designing projects or programs, among others.
