The review examines different types of CARE’s programming that have increased resilience across diverse contexts and uses CARE’s Increasing Resilience Framework as the lens. It draws on 26 CARE projects and programmes across 19 countries with data collected from 34 evaluations, learning and assessment reports, focus group discussions and key informant interviews.

With the COVID-19 pandemic testing the resilience of communities on an unprecedented scale, this review seeks to understand ‘what works’ for increasing resilience to diseases and epidemics and thus informs replication and innovation of further action.
