Agnes coordinates CARE's Adaptation Theme Team, which works on the intersection between climate change adaptation, disaster risk reduction, emergency response, and loss and damage work. She is responsible for the development of CARE’s approach to adaptation; helping to better integrate gender and diversity into tools and policy briefs. Agnes also works closely with CARE's Adaptation Learning Programme for Africa (ALP) and is a member of CARE International’s Gender Network and the Global Gender and Climate Alliance’s Steering Committee.
Agnes has a background in research, programme support and policy on climate change and disasters, food security and social development focused mainly on Sub-Saharan Africa, South Asia and South East Asia. She trained in political science and development studies and has worked as a consultant supporting research, NGOs and donors to improve the integration of climate change adaptation, social protection, disaster risk management and gender equality.
